  in Montpellier\, Theory &amp\; Practice\n\nBilevel problems are optimizat
 ion problems characterized by a hierarchical structure. In these problems\
 , one seeks to minimize an outer function subject to the constraint that c
 ertain variables minimize an inner function. These problems are gaining po
 pularity in the machine learning community due to their wide range of appl
 ications\, such as hyperparameter optimization and data reweighting. In th
 is talk\, we introduce bilevel optimization and demonstrate how various ma
 chine learning problems can be formulated within this framework. We then f
 ocus on the algorithmic aspects of solving bilevel problems. Specifically\
 , we present a general algorithmic framework that enables the adaptation o
 f first-order stochastic solvers—originally designed for single-level pr
 oblems—to the bilevel setting. We provide theoretical guarantees for spe
 cific instances of this framework and present a numerical benchmark compar
